Last week, Gladwin and Clare High Schools competed against each other to see which school could collect the most food/hygiene items for their communities, with the winning school being awarded a traveling trophy. At GHS, 1st hours competed against each other to win either ice cream for breakfast or pizza for lunch.
GHS brought in 2,769 food items and won the Battle for the Bowl! The large bowl-shaped traveling trophy was presented to GHS students at Friday's game against Clare at half time. It is currently on display in the main office. Congratulations to Dale Bragg's first hour for winning our school competition with a total of 569. Marc Jarstfer's class came in second with 517, and Jake Salisbury's class came in third with 347.
In total, GHS and Clare High School brought in over 3,800 food items to feed our respective communities. Thank you SO MUCH to the students and families that really got behind this great effort to help feed our community. All of the food collected at GHS went to the New Dawn Shelter and was delivered by members of our Varsity football team. Awesome job everyone!
