Fly-Fishing Day

GHS held our annual Fly-Fishing Day on Thursday, September 29th. Chad Donahue's Zoology class learned various aspects of fly-fishing from numerous community and agency volunteers. Students went through stations that covered fish identification, fly-fishing equipment identification and function, knot tying, fly tying, and casting. In the afternoon, students took a short trip to Blue Spring Fish Farm to practice their new skills.

Special thank you to Trout Unlimited, Blue Springs Fish Farm, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Little Forks Conservancy, Scientific Anglers, Jay's Sporting Goods, Bay City State Park, Chippewa Nature Center, and The Fruitful Orchard for making this day possible for our kids.
