College Application Day is important at Gladwin High School. Area college representatives came for the day to help seniors finalize applications and ask questions regarding applications, fee waivers, Tuition Incentive Program (TIP), Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), scholarships, and trainings. They, along with high school staff members, worked with students confirming transcripts were sent and answered any other questions students had.
College Application Day is a part of Michigan's College Month. Numerous colleges in the state of Michigan waive application fees during this month. As part of our Senior English class, students apply for colleges, trade schools, or trainings along with scholarships. Throughout the year, guest speakers also visit from the skilled trades, colleges, trade schools, military, and other working sectors. Students work with staff to learn and be better equipped for college and careers after high school including resume and cover letter writing and interview skills.
