We are thrilled to welcome Kimberly Kaleto to our faculty family! As we continue to strive for excellence in education, we are excited to welcome Kim to our dedicated team of educators.
We asked Kim a few questions to help everyone get to know her better:
Would you like to share any information about your family? My husband’s name is Jeff. I have two daughters, Lily (11) and Paige (5).
What inspired you to be a teacher?
My parents are both retired teachers. I think growing up in a household that valued education and displayed how rewarding the teaching profession could be lit a fire in me. I not only love to learn, but I to want to share that with others.
What do you like about teaching?
I love that you are never done learning. I love seeing the ah-ha moments on students’ faces when something finally clicks. I like sharing books with them and helping them realize reading can be fun and not a chore. Most of all, I love providing them with the tools they need to unlock their full potential.
What is a hobby that you have?
Running and dancing
If you have pets, how many, and what kind are they?
1 cat, Oreo. My daughters named her because of her colors.
Where did you go to college?
I started our pre-med at Michigan State. When a professor I had began bashing teachers and the field of education, I went back to my dorm and called my mom fuming. It was then that she helped me realize my real passion was for teaching. I transferred and earned my bachelor’s in Elementary Education from CMU.
What was your first job?
I was a dance helper one night a week to help with my tuition and costume costs.
What did you want to be when you were younger?
A teacher.
